This time, he hit the hub dyno for further testing. But even though the dyno session commenced on a tamer tuneup than what we’ll all see at the big show, boy howdy is his third-gen making some power. How does 3,084 hp and 3,307 lb-ft sound? Better yet, when the dyno pulls ended at roughly 5,500 rpm horsepower was still climbing… At U.C.C., Rose has promised to send his billet-aluminum Cummins into 6,000 rpm territory. Is it June yet?! Source: https://ultimatecalloutchallenge.com/Subscribe Our Weekly Newsletter Events Big Rivalries Are Brewing For U.C.C. 2022 As the big dogs of U.C.C. 2022 continue to ready their rides for the event, battles within battles are brewing. Hey it’s called the Ultimate Callout Challenge for a reason, right? In particular, Chris Patterson’s green dually is a hot topic of discussion on social media. Patterson cleared 3,089 hp aboard the late Robert Pearce’s chassis dyno at last year’s All Truck Challenge and much hype has been generated around how he and his third-gen will perform on the Northwest Dyno Circuit’s SuperFlow. At the same time, reigning champ Justin Zeigler has quietly been piecing together Josh Scruggs’ old Pro Street truck for 3,000 hp on the dyno and 4-second E.T.’s in the eighth-mile. And all that’s just the tip of the iceberg… Source: https://ultimatecalloutchallenge.com/ Highlights The First Full Billet 6.0L Power Stroke Warren Diesel promised a billet 6.0L Power Stroke and it’s finally here! Underneath two massive turbos, the corresponding plumbing, and Warren’s billet heads, you’ll find a billet crankcase serving as the foundation of this beast. Equally awesome, and by noticing the FICM on the driver side valve cover you can clearly see that the engine is still utilizing HEUI. We’re told the billet 6.0L features the stock bore and stroke and that it will power Shark Bait, Warren’s Super Duty that pulls in the Super Stock truck class. We have no idea how much horsepower it will produce, but this new platform should definitely support whatever that number is. Source: https://www.warrendiesel.com/ Ford High Boy Up Top, ’05 Super Duty Underneath Steve Burris has done it again. The High Boy Ford fanatic from northern Illinois has developed a reputation for his top-of-the-line, homebuilt trucks that feature modern chassis’ and Power Stroke engines. This gem is based on an ’05 Super Duty chassis and also has a 6.0L under the hood. His previous projects have included a dual rear wheel version with a 6.7L Power Stroke in the engine bay and a crew cab single rear wheel with a 7.3L and a ZF-6 combination. Ready for the best part? He drives these trucks. You heard that right, this is his daily driver! The Fix For Loose Cummins Flex Plates Is Here LinCo Diesel Performance has solved an age-old problem for Cummins owners with its doweled flex plate. From the factory, Cummins crankshafts are drilled for dowels. LinCo produced a jig to drill and ream holes for dowels in flex plates for a precision slip fit of 0.0005-inches. The dowels hold the flex plate in place and eliminate walking on the bolts (the primary cause of loose flex plates). LinCo offers new Sun Coast flex plates pre-machined for dowels, or you can send in your flex plate for machining at a cost of $100 to machine a single dowel, and $150 for double dowels. What’s up with that? Are OEM’s distancing themselves from the aftermarket? Rumor has it that SEMA’s stance on electric vehicles is the primary reason for major automakers pulling anchor at the automotive industry’s biggest trade show. Others believe the automakers are attempting to appease regulators by publicly abandoning aftermarket support. While no official explanation has been given by GM, hopefully the auto giant releases some type of reasoning for its decision.
